Welcome to Palmer Park Colorado SpringsBike, Hike and Play In this Natural WonderI love Palmer Park Colorado Springs. Palmer Park was given as a gift to the city of Colorado Springs from General Palmer, the founder of the city. My family goes there to hike. We can also take our dog there to hike if we want to. We also enjoy the many bike trails, the fantastic views, and the many incredible rock formations. It is also a wonderful place to simply take a drive. Located right in the middle of Colorado Springs, Palmer Park has activities for any taste. Palmer Park has 25 miles of hiking trails, biking trails and equestrian trails in its 740 acres. For a map of the Palmer Park trails, click here. Here is a typical trail.
With bike tracks.
There are also two baseball/softball fields, a very fun community playground, a football/soccer field, horse stables.
There are scenic overlooks and scenic drives.
There are multiple picnicking areas, a botanical reserve, and the Seven Castles geological point of interest.
There are also three volleyball courts and a dog park. The Yucca Flats hiking area allows dogs off leash and it's a great place to hike with kids. The area is relatively flat and has fantastic views of northern Colorado Springs and the Front Range mountains.
